Rocky’s Manifesto

Rocky had an interesting assignment for her Social Studies class. She was told to form a union.

She chose to unionize her siblings.

As the song says, let’s start at the very beginning. With a mission statement.

Now, if you are interested in joining this union, I’m afraid that will not be possible. Sorry even grandparents aren’t allowed. If you still want to pursue membership, it appears the only viable path is to convince Sam and I to adopt you. And we’re rather busy at the moment.

Power has clearly gone to Rocky’s head as she has declared herself the Supreme Leader. She chose the innocuous term “President” but just read between the lines.

She clearly states what the URCPOP Union supports. Although if Baby #8 happens to be a musical prodigy, this union could be detrimental to his/her future development.

As she delineates what the Union opposes, I’d like to mention that Veronica just turned 13. How convenient.

And finally, a little brainstorming about potential obstacles to unionization.

I’m clearly one of the stubborn parents. But I am curious which of the kid(s) fall into the ‘Rule Followers” category. I have my suspicions.

In the middle of this pandemic and lockdown, on top of cooking and laundry and general management of a household of 9, unionization is just what I need. Good heavens!

Does anyone know a good labor attorney?

  2. I just want to tell you that I read this with a huge smile on my face. I am sure most of the children are behind her, minus the rule followers!
