Read More »Ever since I can remember, my dad stored a military sabre at the back of his closet, a relic from a bygone era. Dad attended Marist College High School in Atlanta, Georgia, in what was then an all-boys military academy. He graduated in 1958, the Adjutant of the Battalion at his school.
I doubt Dad ever imagined that his sabre would see the light of day again. He kept it for sentimental reasons. And because it’s hard to donate a weapon to Goodwill.

Thanks to me, she has finally done something ahead of schedule!
Mom met Becky about thirty minutes before she was transported for surgery. It was enough time to make a brief acquaintance and take a couple of pictures.
Today is a big day for Becky. Her abdominal surgery is scheduled for 2:30pm.
This morning, I found her resting peacefully, tucked on her side, lullabies playing soothingly over the speaker. They have cranked the heat in her room to keep her comfortable. I am fairly certain that I could grow tomatoes in here.
