Happy Halloween! I’m spending my first holiday in the NICU.

I’d like to go trick or treating later with some of my nurses. But I will most likely sleep through the holiday.
I started eating again. 1 teaspoon at a time. Later today, I will be up to 3 teaspoons. Good times. And my oxygen has been removed. It’s been a banner day!
I was given a couple of costume choices here in NICU. I was hoping you might help me pick the best one.
Choice #1: A Cupcake
I thought this might be appropriate since my life’s purpose right now is to put on weight. Mom says cupcakes would help. I wish someone would sneak me one with yellow cake and chocolate frosting. Maybe a few sprinkles.

Choice #2: Star Wars Droid BB-8
So this was mostly for Johnny. He’s a big fan, like my Dad, of many things Star Wars. Of course, we like the Rebel Alliance and not the Galactic Empire.

Choice #3: Wonder Woman
I borrowed this idea from my surgeon. She came dressed as Wonder Woman yesterday and that’s when she told me I could begin eating again. Mom suspects that this doctor might actually be a super hero. So, I thought it would be nice to dress just like my amazing doctor.

Those are my choices. Now it’s time to vote!
My siblings are out trick-or-treating. I heard that last year it was snowing, so they are enjoying the good weather. Johnny went as a ninja, Miffy as a dad, and Rocky as Cruella de Vil.

Even my Dad dressed as a baseball player and my dog as Secretariat. But Rudy was too busy sniffing for treats to take a proper picture.

I hope they save me some Snickers or maybe a Butterfinger.
Finally, I want to remind everyone to be on the lookout tonight for the Great Pumpkin. It’s a real thing!

And remember Linus’s famous words:
“There are three things I’ve learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin.”
Mom says you can learn a lot from a cartoon.
What beautiful and special milestones for Becky today on Halloween! She is absolutely the most precious “Wonder Woman”! Happy Halloween to you, your sweet little Becky, and your family! Continued prayers for recovery, more eating, and more weight gain! Sending lots of love and hugs!

Becky, we’re so glad you have started eating again! We loved seeing everybody’s costumes, except your two oldest sisters weren’t represented!. Maybe they were disguised as ND football fans today?! I hate to disappoint Johnny, but I believe Wonder Woman really describes the first 2 1/2 weeks of your life! And thanks for helping all of us out by starting Election Week with some sage advice! ❤️❤️❤️
