Advice for Marriage

Today is my parents’ 57th wedding anniversary.

I recently came across some sound advice for marriage. From Mary Frances.

I was sorting a pile of school papers when I found this gem. I think it’s from Mary Frances’ 2nd grade year. Her teacher was getting married and the class prepared some Mad Libs-style advice. It’s probably a fantastic treasure trove for that couple. Here is what Mary Frances had to say:

Obviously food is central to any good marriage. “Cooking meat” and “making dinner”, the building blocks of a healthy relationship.

And someone needs a good job with all those potential children.

But I’m not sure what the unicorns are all about.

The greatest gifts in my life come from my folks: their marriage, my siblings, and our faith. It’s a great day to celebrate all three.

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!
