Johnny has learned to time travel.

And I have video evidence.
Yesterday, Mary Frances arrived home from school alone. The afternoon bus drops them one street over from our house. Normally she and Johnny walk home together. Today there was no Johnny.

When I asked her what happened, she assured me that he would be home. Eventually.
Johnny was invited to a midweek birthday party. There were going to be tacos as well as ice cream and cake. Not to mention lots of boys to play with. Afterwards, his basketball team was gathering for an end-of-the-season ice cream party. That’s an action-packed, sugar-filled couple of hours for a 7-year old. He was excited and desperate for the time of departure.
As they disembarked from the bus, Johnny told Mary Frances that he had figured out a way to make time go faster. Apparently, if he walk home, v-e-r-y….v-e-r-y….S-L-O-W-L-Y, the afternoon’s events would arrive sooner. She decided to walk on ahead without him.
I watched him for several minutes as he sashayed and danced down the street. And then I grabbed my phone to capture the final moments.
Genius.
Love it!! Especially seeing him going in “ Reverse” ! 😂😂😂
