Johnny arrived in Texas safely and has begun another summer adventure.

Apparently he is trying to learn how to balance on a basketball.
I followed Johnny’s flight to Dallas and was anxious to hear the details. My folks told me that several people approached them in the baggage claim area. These eyewitnesses reported that he was delightful and polite. When I talked to Johnny, he told me that the flight was great.
But he fell asleep about 10 minutes after takeoff.
According to the flight attendant, he was out cold and she roused our unaccompanied minor upon landing. Honestly, I was surprised that he conked out. I thought he would be far too excited to even consider sleep.
Johnny: “Well, I looked down and saw the arm rest and decided to sleep.”
Me: “I can’t believe you actually slept through the whole flight.”
Johnny: “Mom, that’s the joy of traveling alone.”
A seasoned traveler after his first solo flight at the age of 7.
By the way, as Johnny deplaned, the flight attendant offered him a drink. After all, he had slept through the biggest moment of the flight.

He selected a Dr. Pepper.
I’m glad Johnny had a restful flight, but I chuckle to think it’s his parents or siblings who usually keep HIM a awake! Nice catch, John! You’re off to a great start! ☺️❤️

Julia and I are blown away by how much he looks like his uncles John and David at the same age! At first glance, we thought it was an older photo of one of them!

[…] He also experienced the joys of traveling alone. At least that’s how he characterized his first solo flight. […]
