Recently I delivered the bombshell news that I am expecting Baby #8. Apparently, the Chinese have a phrase for me.

Many thanks to Greta for the heads up. I am both a noun and an adjective. I’ve always known that I was complicated.
As a noun, I am considered advanced age. Though I prefer the second entry venerable age. It has a nice ring to it.

But the adjective description really takes the cake. Because, if you couple gāolíng with another Chinese word, you get me in my present condition.

When I go in to deliver, I am identifying myself as a Gāolíng yùnfù.
